The 2015 Pantone Colors for Fall  reflect the feel of late summer to early fall. Mix the neutrals of grey, green, tan, and blue together with accent colors–both warm and cool to create looks for light summers, dark summer, and autumn palettes. The colors of these two seasons are blended, (i.e. either with grey and black or with tones of brown), but every color in this Fall Pantone collection is so blended that you need a few words to describe them… Greenish Grey (Desert Sage), Reddish Brown (Marsala), Smoky Blue Grey (Stormy Weather), etc. They are the perfect quality of colors for Summers and Autumn palettes.

2015 Pantone Color Basic Building Blocks

The Pantone colors that can be used as basic building blocks of your wardrobe are these colored neutrals:
Desert Sage (Greenish Grey ~ cool and soothing)
Dried Herb (Military Yellow-Green Tan)
Stormy Weather (Smoky Blue Grey ~ cool but not cold)
Reflecting Pond (Deep Shaded Black Blue ~ great alternative to black)

Warm colors of Oak Buff and Cadmium Orange are best for the Autumn seasonal type.

Cool colors of Cashmere Rose and Amethyst Orchid are best for the Light-Summer type.

Marsala is great for a Dark-Summer type.

Biscay Bay ~ Blue Green depending on the shade will be enjoyed by many. This lush, elegant teal is cool with a little bit of warm, and will be enjoyed by Summers, Autumns and even Winters depending on what neutral clothing one pairs it with.

It’s fun to look at what the designers are doing with these colors:
Daniel Silverstain pairs Biscay Bay with Stormy Weather – perfect for a dark haired silver Summer or Summers and Winters with green-blue eyes or stormy blue-grey eyes.

Monique Lhuiller ~ her inspiration is the sultry, seductive feeling of the ‘20’s…. She pairs Biscay Bay with Desert Sage & Stormy Weather (Blue-Green with Grey Green and Blue Black)

Costello & Tagliapietra the guys who “live in plaid” make the most of the light earthy pallets with Oak Buff, Dried Sage and Desert Sage.

Have fun playing with the new colors. Once you play with them you may realize you have a few wrong ones in your closet. If so, you might as well take them out and just enjoy having your best colors in the closet.
