So now you know what you love and have words and pictures to prove it. That’s a great first step.
Is there a pattern or theme to what you have collected? If yes, go deeper and really get a sense of what that theme, design or style is…
And look for the designers, stores, or parts of the country/world that offer you that design. You do not need to shop every store or every season. Some places will have what you need and others not. Don’t beat yourself up or get frustrated if you don’t find it right away. Shop for your design only. Your patience will be rewarded. Another tip is to find others wearing your design and ask where they shop.
If there is no distinct pattern, then you better have an unlimited budget because you have no limits. It’s best to limit your choices and get someone to help you define a theme. Some of you reading this will have distinct opinions and other will not. Give yourself permission to develop an opinion and start the process of evolving a personal style.
Tip: Find someone who looks like you and whom you like the way they present themselves (not the movie star du jour). Use them as a model. But practice discernment and carefully evaluate the the style before you copy it.
