Red – The Language of Color

What-red?

Color is not a physical property of an object.

Color is actually a perception, a visual response of the eye and the brain to energy bouncing off the pigments of objects. Color creates a psychological impact on all of us.

February is a very RED month, due primarily to Valentine’s Day.

Red conveys confidence, assertiveness, excitement, drama and exuberance. Wear red when you want to be recognized, to be seen and be noticed. Wear an accent of red in business, when you want to show authority without being threatening.

Red is the color of persuasion. So it is very effective in attracting the opposite sex, hence the little red dress for women. And men also look attractive wearing red in ties, shirts, and dare I say briefs.

Both sexes look attractive in red(s) that complement their skin color. Your Red or Romantic Color is the color reflected by your flushed skin, which reveals your passion,  your sexual energy, and your romantic self.  Wear your version of red on a hot date, a romantic evening , or any time you want to show your passion.

Red also has a negative side. It conveys aggression, danger,
sinfulness
, and it can signal fiery temperament.

Avoid wearing red:

  •  When you are over tired or over stressed. It actually increases your physical tension.
  • When you are not ready to defend your position.
  • When you are meeting potential in-laws – red can scare them.
  • When you are interviewing for a job that you want. It
signals you are not a team player.
  • When teaching a class over 4 hours. Red is very wearing on your students.*
