Have you seen the new colors for Spring in all the stores?….
Monaco Blue, Emerald, Lemon Zest, Poppy Red are just a few of the Pantone Spring 2013 colors for women’s clothing.
Bright, fresh, and youthful, they can also be somewhat overpowering…so I advise that you use caution in purchasing such strong colors. Remember, a little goes a long way.
These colors are so striking that when you wear them once, everyone will remember you wearing them. Do not wear them if you are not wanting to be the center of attention!
Another consideration is to be sure they do not over power you. Unless you are like Oprah Winfrey, who can and does wear any and every bright color magnificently, a little discretion is in order.
My advice is to purchase them as accents or for a pop of color. Just a few inexpensive shirts, a fun jacket, bracelet, a sandal, sunglasses, or even a coffee cup will do the trick.
Use the major portion of your Spring shopping budget on the basics: Your best neutral colors in your shapes and style.
- Your version of white: Linen, Soft Whites, Oatmeal, Sea Salt, Silver Grey
- Your version of tan or khaki: Kangaroo, Rucksack, Classic Taupe, Oyster
- Your version of brown/charcoal: Dark Earth, Manganese, Boulder, Granite, Chocolate
- Your version of black: Black, Midnight Blue, Eggplant, Redwood and more…
Build units of clothing in your best neutrals and POP the color with these fun, one time, (memorable and easy to tire of)
Pantone Spring 2013 colors.
Come Fall an entirely new set of Pantone colors will be ready and waiting for your shopping dollars. And I can guarantee that they will not play well together.
Your well thought-out basics will carry you through from one season to the next, and are worthy of spending more for the best quality. But don’t miss out on the fun ~ everyone likes to feel current and bright in the Springtime. Just don’t spend a fortune on it.
