Pantone has released its Color Forecast for the Spring 2019 Colors. What does that mean for you? Time to go Shopping! Yes, but you need to pick your time.
If you are not a fashionista or interior designer (or another color professional), the PANTONE color forecast may not seem important, but this is how it influences your clothing choices:
Seasonal colors are planned months and years ahead. PANTONE Color Institute releases a color trend forecast for each season, highlighting the top colors that designers will feature in their products for the upcoming season. These colors will show up in clothing, interiors, and in fabrics for drapes, upholstery, etc. for years to come.
Designers and clothing manufacturers are currently busy working with the Spring/Summer 2019 colors or variations of them for the clothing that will hit the stores in February 2019.
Here is how you can be strategic with your shopping dollars and your PANTONE color knowledge.
1. Shop now in the department or specialty stores for Fall/Winter 2018 colors while the selection is good. Shopping early in the season actually saves you money, because you can buy the whole outfit. Later in the season, you can pick up the bits and pieces on sale. But complete your unit of clothing early in the buying cycle.
2. Shop now in the clearance stores like Nordstrom Rack, TJ Maxx, Ross, etc. if you liked the last season’s Spring/Summer 2018 colors better. Or if you want to pick up an extra copy of something you loved.
3. Wait to Shop? Be sure to look ahead at the Spring/Summer 2019 line up of colors, if they have some of your favorites you may want to wait and save your money to invest in those colors. Waiting to buy just the right color in just the right outfit is strategic. You will cherish that item for years to come. It will be worth the wait.
SPRING/SUMMER 2019
Which colors look best on you. If you feel overwhelmed or stumped with the choices, I can help you narrow it down and teach you to understand why certain colors harmonize with you.
Knowing what colors are right for you, and why that is so, can save you both time and money in the stores. Knowing what colors are right for you can also cut down on frustration when you are having difficulty finding clothes that look and feel right. Once you understand what works for you and why, you can rest assured that if you don’t like the way you look in an outfit there is nothing wrong with you, but there is something wrong with the clothes!
